HISTORY IN BRIEF The business was founded by Bev Price in 1974, as a Citroën specialist workshop. The name Bijou means 'jewel' and was also the name of the English-made Citroën of the sixties. The workshop moved to the present location in Cwmcarn in 1982. In 1993, the garage achieved accreditation to BS5750 Quality Standard (later to evolve into ISO9001) specifically for Citroën service and repair. At that time it was uncommon for a small independent garage to reach and maintain that Quality Standard. Following requests from our customers to extend our scope to include Peugeot vehicles, year 2000 brought accreditation to ISO9001 International Quality Standard for all our Citroën & Peugeot operations.

BIJOU MOTOR SERVICES TODAY Bijou provides servicing, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repair and diagnosis for Citroën and Peugeot vehicles. MOT Testing is conducted using our own testing facility. Nearly all our clients are private motorists. We do not sell cars nor do we carry out bodywork repairs. Our three motor vehicle technicians are John Lewis (joined 1989), Andrew Roberts (1991) and Rod Parry (1991). Customer service is provided by Bev Price, FIMI, (Manager) and John Lewis (Deputy Manager). Mike O’Leary is responsible for general administration and accounting. Underlying all our activities is the framework of the International Quality Standard ISO9001, the full use of which enables us to provide our customers with the ultimate assurance of good quality. Our reputation for providing excellent customer service and first-class workmanship has been earned over many years. Everyone involved in Bijou continually strives to protect and enhance that reputation. In addition, our management of environmental health is highly effective and we may justifiably claim to be among the most environmentally responsible garage businesses.
